Some August Pictures

We had a little get together. Here is the artwork that the kids did. Not too shabby!

MP3 got a new bath toy. He LOVES it!

MP3 found a binky and just thought he was the funniest thing PRETENDING to be a baby!

We joined a farm share this year.  Here are some flowers that MP3 and I picked there.
MP3 loves to help out with making breakfast.  One of the things that he wants to do the most is "slap the egg."  I made hard boil eggs so he could finally "slap" one himself.  This picture reminds me of a slo-mo ending of one of many 80's movies.

Awwww, I'm so depressed.  Look at this mess.....

Nahhh, just kidding!  Check out my "nogit" (yogurt) mustache!

Some Fun Today

We went to the Tyler Arboretum today for the first time.  Wow!  Why haven't we been there before?!  Michael loved it.  In fact, I'm sorry I kinda rushed him through to try to keep up with his friends.  He does love soaking in new experiences.  I will have to take him back again, perhaps with Dada to really enjoy everything at his own pace.  But, he did have a blast with his friends Jack and Ethan.  Here are some highlights:

Notice how he counts in the music with hitting the sticks together.  Then notice how when Ethan starts to count (higher than 4) he starts hitting the sticks again, but for as long as Ethan counts.  I just thought that was cute!

Then we came home to a package on our doorstep.  It's is Michael's first rolling backpack.  He calls it his suitcase and pack-pack. This is him rolling it around the house in all his glory!
This is him after tripping over it, falling, and biting his lip.

Little Blessings

So, Mike is started incorporating a nighttime prayer to MP3's bedtime ritual.  He starts by recapping the day (which he has been doing for a while) then giving thanks for our blessings.  He then explains how you can ask for blessings as well then asks God to bless our family (the amount of detail during this section depends on how tired MP3 is).  He then asks for something "bigger."  We just want to make sure that he is aware of the rest of the word out there and not just the part that he comes in contact with.  He'll ask God something like, bless those that are less fortunate, those that need help talking to God, word peace - ya know the standards. :)  Anyway, he ends the prayer with, "What would you like to ask God to bless?"  Tonight, MP3's answer was, "Bless the Mama downstairs?"  How sweet!!!

Although to put things in perspective, one day last week his answer to this same question was, "Fix the buttons?"  Just before bed, he realized that his play remote's batteries went dead and he kept asking us to fix it.  The poor thing must have figured that if we couldn't do it, maybe God would.
