My Compassionate Baby

Just one quick note about my sweet, compassionate kid. After mass on Sunday, an elderly woman tripped on a curb and fell. As Mike quickly ran to help her up and make sure she was okay I took MP3. When she pulled up her pant leg to see how much damage there was, MP3 looked at her knee (which was fine by the way) and looked at the jagged curb and yelled out the saddest cry. It really sounded like he, himself just fell and hurt himself. (Which is funny because he rarely cries when he falls.) I really believe that he was crying for her. When I explained that she was okay he quickly stopped crying. He's such a sweet kid!

A Weekend of Firsts and Lasts

We went back to NEPA for a visit with the family this weekend. It was bitter sweet. We had a great time staying at Grammy Betty and Pops' house. We got in late Friday night and he was just too excited to go right to bed. And Grammy was too excited to let him ;) Saturday was jam packed with visiting Grandma, Great-grandma Joan and Grandpop, and then Gadgie.

Then we ended the night with a movie. MP3's first one and it was a good one. We saw Toy Story 3 in the Drive-In! He had a BLAST! He met the cutest little girl and shared the rocks that he found on the ground with her. They were just too cute! Then he was a bit confused as to why the sound was coming from the front of the car from the radio, but we were supposed to look out the back of the car at the screen. But he quickly got the hang of it once the movie started and he saw his buddy Buzz! He was so into it and giving his own commentary on what was happening. Mike thought it was so funny that when he took him for a walk around the car, he saw the light from the projector, pointed at it and exclaimed, "Cool!" That was about half way through when he lost interest until he got tired and tried to fall asleep. What a great time all three of us had!!! What a perfect way to watch a movie with a little one that can stay up late like that. We now know he would never make it in a theater yet. We will HAVE to go back again!

Then Sunday came, had a big breakfast with Grammy Betty and Pops, played around a bit then got ready for church. It was a beautiful ceremony but certainly sad. It was the last mass in St. Mary's Church in Wanamie. It was the church that I grew up in and it was a big part of my life until I moved out of the area. It was nice to see some people that I haven't seen in a long time! This was the church that I received all my sacraments in (including marriage.) One highlight for MP3 was the incense. When he looked up at the altar when it was burning he shouted, "Wow! Look at that!" Then when I told him what it was called, he just kept looking at Mike and saying, "Look! Incense!" One touching moment, though, was when the eldest member of the parish locked the doors for the last time. Mike was holding him and totally unprompted he just said, "Bye-bye church." How sweet and observant is he?!

He did shock Ciochi Joanie when he was sitting next to her at the dinner following. While the history of the church was being read he was giving his commentary (as usual). At one point she leans over to me and says, "It sounds like he is saying Lady Gaga." Yep, he probably is.

Vacuum the Kitchen

For those of you that joke that you wish the toy vacuums really worked, may I suggest the Bissell cordless. MP3 LOVES cleaning up after breakfast.

Makin' Pancakes

So, MP3 LOVES going to the Smith Playground in Philly!  He loved "makin' pancakes" in the kitchen.  Two of the highlights of this poor quality video are the kid falling off the chair in the background (I know, not so nice, but still funny) and the way MP3 exclaims to everyone, "MAKIN' PANCAKES!"  As if to say, "Don't you hear what I am saying???  I'm makin' pancakes here!!!"

This is a video of him actually makin' pancakes.  He likes to mix in applesauce, cinnamon, eggs, and milk.  He wants to cook them in the oven (pointing to the microwave) and wants to eat them with fireworks.  (Mike was wearing a Steelers shirt that was quite colorful that could be seen as fireworks.)  He was soooo excited!!!

What To Do After Dinner....

Background:  Lately Mike has been taking MP3 down the basement to play the drums each night after dinner.  He starts asking for it hours before Mike gets home and often times greets him at the door with, "Basent?"

This Morning:  MP3 was eating his breakfast and Mike was leaving for work.  We just made plans to meet for Dining Under the Stars in Media so Mike says, "I'll see you for dinner."  MP3 replies, "dinna. Down the basent.  Play the dums.  Symbol."  He's just getting too smart.

Memorial Day Weekend

Ok, so I'm a little out of order, but here are some pics from Memorial Day weekend. We went up to W-B to visit the families, go to Knoebel's Park with Mike's family, and see the fireworks at the casino. Here's how it went.

So we got to "Gamma's" house late on Friday. A drowsy MP3 spilled water on himself and the floor. No big deal, but I just thought he was so cute cleaning it up. Here's some video.

Saturday we visited with some family on both sides. Then Sunday was a big day for MP3. It was his first trip to Knoebel's Amusement Park. It is a small family owned park in the middle of the country in PA. Perhaps you have seen them on the Food Network as being in the top 5 best Amusement Parks for best food. Anyway, Mike's family has an outing there each year. We had a great time and it was a little bitter sweet. It was the first time that MP3 went on a park ride with just the kids, and went on owe all by himself. Here are some memories from that day.

Then Sunday night Mohegan Sun in Wilkes-Barre had a great fire works display set to music. We got to hang out with some great friends that I really don't get to see enough. MP3 LOVED the fireworks and we all loved the time spent there. I don't know if we've ever seen MP3 that outwardly excited before. During the song, "Poker Face," you were all able to hear "Face! Face! Face!" above all the fireworks banging, music banging, and friends singing along. It was all just too much!!!

Awwww!  Look!  It's baby's first casino night!  How cute!!!

He has been singing "Poker Face" ever since. In face he broke into it at church today during one of the hymns. It took all I had not to laugh out loud! It was such a strong laugh that I held in I actually started crying.

Goodnight Ritual

Ok, I'm not sure if I should even be admitting this let alone sharing it with you, but it looks like we have an addition to MP3's night time ritual.

Just for clarification, it's the first part of the video that's new. He hasn't been saying goodnight to Lady Gaga his whole life. :)

Finally an update!

Okay, so I've been absolutely terrible with keeping up with this.  Mostly because I've been waiting to organize all the Disney stuff to have a nice little layout about that, but in the meantime I've been missing out on other stuff.  So, I've decided to just put today's stuff and catch up later with the earlier stuff.

Today was awesome!!!  We joined Lisa and Nate at the Smith Playground in Philly.  Ohhhh myyy goodenss what a great time!!!  We HAVE to go back soon!  I didn't get too many great shots or videos, but here are some snippets.

We started off by picking up Nate and Lisa at their home.  This is how the boys passed the time while we got the car ready for them.

This is the first time that MP3 had a buddy in the car with him.  I think he really liked it, especially since N
ate shared his cars with him.

Michael LOVED this spinning chair at the Smith Playground in Philly! I was amazed by how he is using his head to spin faster and faster. Then he would tell me "All Done" and try to walk saying "dizzy!"

So after a great day at the Playground and a long nap it was time to check to go to the Farm Share at the Elwyn Farm.  What great fun!!!  Michael LOVED the broccoli and had to chomp into it right away.  Then when it came to picking strawberries, he was in his glory!  Plus we ran into Molly and Ben and had a great time!  I'll have to remember to dress us both in old clothes next week however.  Strawberry juice EVERYWHERE!  But he was having such a good time picking them and eating them stems and all right off the plants!  I can't wait for next week already.
