Super Why at the Aquarium

We just had to go and see Super Why and Wonder Red at the Adventure Aquarium today. They all had "thumbs up!". Oh, and we saw some pretty cool sea creatures as well. I love the photo of MP3's head in the tank. He kept spinning aground saying, "hello baby! Hello fishy" right in their faces.

Easter Highlights

* I'm using my app on the phone for this, so it's not as complete as I'd like. I can't label individual pictures, control the order of the pictures, or post videos.

MP3 had egg hunts everywhere. At 2 friends' houses, Grammy Betty's, Auntie Judy's, and The Bunny had one for him in our basement.

He especially enjoyed getting dried fruits, bunny crackers, and coin money in his eggs. And, or course, all the "chocwit" was a big hit no matter where it came from.

He got to celebrate his Great Granda Joan's birthday and especially loved chasing the dog around in his suit on his hands and knees. His first taste of ice cream cake was also a huge success!

He had to show off his koala baby to everyone. He even had to show him to the Easter Bunny!

Dada helped him count his loot at Grammy Betty's house after the big hunt. He had fun with his cousins and really enjoys playing with the ice cream play-dough set!!! He also enjoyed posing for pictures for everyone In his handsome suit!

Then, back down the mountain we went to Auntie Judy's house. He liked finding his eggs as well as "hiding" (more like throwing them) for his cousins. He especially loves his "beautiful" cousin Brooke that he just couldn't stop hugging. He was so excited to get a marshmallow shooter that shoots "real criminals". As it turns out, the stuff that comes out of the gun is the criminal - not a person. The bubble blowing lawn mower was also a bug hit.

Monday we saw Jodgie and tried out some of the color wonder stuff he got. He was so proud to show off his picture with the Easter Bunny. He told Jodgie to remember not to forget him making reference to the picture on our way out. Too cute!

The various books he got came in handy in the car on the way home. He read them to us to keep busy.

When we came home he noticed a stuffed egg next to the basement door. He immediately opened it and rejoiced to see bunny crackers and had to eat them right there, on the spot. Then, the poor thing was confused and thought the Easter Bunny was still in our house and was afraid to go downstairs by himself. Once we explained that he was gone like Santa does he felt much better and had great fun looking for his eggs and basket. There were a few highlights in that basket: gold foiled chocolate bunny, chocolate/peanut butter egg ("that isn't shaped like on the show"), M&M light saber, M&M fan, Spider Man PJ's with underarm webbing, and Superman PJ's complete with removable cape. He still hasn't figured out that the M&M containers have candy, he just plays with the fan and light.

BTW, he also LOVES peeling or "smashing" his eggs. He had 3 today with Jodgie's red horse radish. I had to stop him from having another one!

Preschool and Shortcake

MP3 and I toured an Arts based preschool today. We both loved it! MP3 will tell you that he liked the "angry bird" section the best. That was drama class where they pretended to be birds and the angry bird stole their tail feathers. He liked it because they got to run around (which turned into him chasing the other kids. Go figure.)
At one point during music class I turned around for one minute and when I turned around he was a flower. And all the kids were singing and watering him so he could grow. Everyone took turned being the flower but he wanted to go again so the teacher let him. But, the comedian his, wouldn't grow to get laughs and tickles and attention.

After that we went to "woofie's house" (Ruthie) to stuff Easter eggs for the upcoming Easter egg hunt. Which then turned into throwing the eggs around to pick them up again then just trying to keep them away from the dog and out of baby Charlie's mouth. Still lots of fun.
When we first got there Amelia was making lunch for us and Michael immediately asked to help. He said something to here that she didn't understand so she just proceeded to pull up a chair for him to stand on. He then exclaims to her, "I told you! The first step is washing your hands!"

So, after dinner, MP3 made and had his first strawberry shortcake. Mmmmm. It was a huge hit! Placing the cake, pouring the milk, adding the strawberries, dolloping the whipped cream. It was alllll good. So good, he drank the milk out of the bowl.

It was a good day!

I'm Batman

I just had to share this video from the shoe store today.  No, we didn't get the raincoat or shoes, but man did he have fun trying them on!

I Want to Be a Michael

As Michael was playing with rhyming and different words and their pronunciations:
Mama, "Maybe you'll be a poet."
Dada, "or a songwriter."
MP3, "I don't want to be a songwriter. I want to be a Michael just like I am right now."

Spring cleaning

He took it upon himself to go in the closet and get "his" squeegee and class cleaner "it has a baby on it do it's for me to use."

We had the co-op group over this morning it was such a beautiful day outside we took the rice table out and played out there. He was so excited to clean it up.

He had the best time hanging out with Mia and Tommy and his other friends. He actually cried when it was time for baby Mia to go.

Some December Highlights (So Far)

Here are some cute stuff I got on tape this month:

Our annual trip to Build-A-Bear.  This is the part when he does all the things to the heart before putting it in the bear.  So heart-warming.  It is hard to hear over the older girls having a party behind be chanting about their dirty bears at the shower machine.  But, you can still see how cute he is!

Mike and MP3 during their light saber battle complete with "Action Music!"

This starts off as a finger puppet show (complete with music) but then it takes a turn.  He apparently had a memory of something that happened the last time we played with this (months ago) and, as he does, had to recreate whatever it was that he couldn't completely remember.  This is a peek into my life of trying to read his mind. :)

Okay, this is pretty long and starts and ends kinda slow.  But this too is a sample of my everyday with this kid.  The stories that come out of his mouth are just so darn entertaining!  But, he won't let me tape him anymore so I have to be sneaky.  Sorry for how shaky the video is.

This one is just too much!  It's kinda long too, but I think it's worth it.  Please take note of the fabulous floor work and the poses on the chair.  Right before I taped this he asked me, "Mama, did you ever see this before?" and did a split like in the video.  You should also know that we just went to see the Nutcracker the day before so that is why he is referencing it.

Our trip to Linvilla Orchards to get our Christmas Tree:

All dressed up and ready to go:
MP3 and "Baby Dinosaur" (and Buzz socks) are ready for the show:

Mike had a Christmas concert with the contemporary choir that he plays drums for at the church:

MP3 took this picture himself with my phone:
Just plain cute:
Cupcake!

We went to see the Muppets with Kermit:
Went to his friend, Rachel's, third birthday party and decorated his own cupcake.  Take a guess how that went:
Then made his picture frame craft.  I think he got a little confused and put something to frame in the middle.  Good thing I put paper on the table so we could still have that frameable artwork.

Since Mike was at an office Christmas Party tonight, MP3 and I had a date night.
We went to Azie for some sushi.  This is actually just a big slab of salmon:

Then when asked about dessert, he asked for ice cream with sprinkles.  When she said they only had vanilla, mint, or green tea ice cream and no sprinkles he was a bit disappointed.  (That was the first thing he asked for when I told him we could go out for dinner.)  I gave him the option of going for a walk down the street to get ice cream with sprinkles or we could stay there and have one of their choices.  Take a guess what he wanted to do.  If you guessed that the three year old would rather stay in an upscale, dimly lit, Japanese fusion restaurant in a confining high chair and pick the green tea ice cream you would be right.  Even the waitress looked at me as if to say, "really?"
Then we rode around and took pictures of the lights on houses.  Here's a picture of him taking a picture of one of our neighbor's houses:
And just a bonus, here's some shots of our lights:

I just had to share this picture of him sleeping:
